What is JumpStart?
JumpStart is a support group for patients with ICDs (Implantable
Cardioverter Defibrillators) and their families. It is not unusual for
patients to be nervous or apprehensive about their device. This group
can help by offering insight, education, and support as you get used to
your ICD. Most importantly, you will meet other people just like you,
who have an ICD.
Jump Start meetings include a complimentary buffet supper, followed by a
guest speaker who will present topics we hope will be of interest to
those patients with an ICD. It is a casual meeting which will provide
you plenty of time to voice questions or concerns.
Jump Start meets regularly, approximately once a month, at Taylor Road
Baptist Church. Meetings are typically on Thursday evenings at 6:00pm.
When you receive an ICD, you will be automatically added to our Jump
Start mailing list ,unless you ask to be removed. We hope you will all
join us!!
As always, we hope that you will let us know of any special topics you
would like presented. We are always looking for new ideas. Remember,
this is YOUR group !
