Dr. McGavock Porter is the founding member of
Montgomery Cardiovascular Associates. Dr. Porter began
providing cardiovascular care to patients in Montgomery
in
1970. In 1973, Dr. John Finklea joined with Dr. Porter and
together started the first heart catheterization laboratory in
Central Alabama. Through the years the practice
has evolved as
one of the most respected cardiology practices in the southeast.
Montgomery Cardiovascular Associates currently employs
physicians providing general cardiology, interventional
cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.
MCA has the only freestanding
catheterization laboratory in the Montgomery area
which opened
in April 1995. MCA moved to their present location in 2007
continuing
to provide a wide range of
diagnostic procedures.
MCA serves the tri-county area of Montgomery,
Autauga, Elmore counties in addition
to the surrounding areas of
Central Alabama. MCA provides outreach clinics in
Prattville,
Troy, Wetumpka, Greenville, and Tallassee and is continually evaluating
other
potential
service areas.
Being the first
cardiology practice in Montgomery and the oldest practice in the
surrounding area, our physicians are committed to provide
comprehensive cardiovascular care for our patients that is
compassionate, timely, and cost effective, employing only the
most current and proven therapeutic protocols.
